Hey everyone,
Sorry it has been so long since we last updated, but we have been on Fraser Island for a few days where you are cut off from civilisation completley.
We are now in Surfers Paradise, where we have already found our hotel staff to be very rude. We are not sure how long we are staying here for but there is a theme park called movie world which is perfect for me, so i will just have to convince Tom it is within our budget.
So since the last time we updated we have been to many weird and wonderful places. Firstly we went to Australia zoo which was just ace. We gat to stroke Koalas and sit with and stroke Kangaroos, we saw baby tigers and the world famous croc show that Steve Irwin use to do. Tom got scared in the Poisenous snake house, and we saw the best animal ever the Tazmanian Devil (we would put the photos on but computers are silly and wont let us).
We then went on to a place called Rainbow beach where we were meant to be doing Dolphine Kayaking, but it was too windy so we were offered a surf lesson instead. I wasn't too keen as it was in shark infested waters and the thing of making a fool of myself. However it was one of the best things i have done so far i managed to actually surf about 3 times (this is in a 2 and a half hour lesson). Tom kind of did one but i was the best (Tom wins everything else so its only fair).
Next we were off on a self 4 wheel drive tour of Fraser Island. We were in a group of 11, us, 2 Danish girls, 2 Irish girls, 1 Irish guy, 3 lads form Bath and a German girl. Fraser Island is the largest sand Island in the world so were thankful we were in a 4 wheel drive and that me and Tom didin't have to drive. We got stuck in the sand a few times and we had to push the car out (well myself and the German girl Kat just pretended to help, more moral support really). We went to a place called Lake Mckenzie which is one of the most beautiful places i have ever been, it is a big fresh water lake, and it is just amazing to swim in. Surrounded by sand and the forest. We then went to Indian head, which was again amazing you can just see the ocean for miles and then you realise that you are also surrounded by Whales, dolphins and sharks. We then went to the Mahony shipwreck where i proceeded to fall asleep in the car as i was a little hung over from the day before. Our last stop was Lake Wabby which has the same ph as us so it gives you great skin, but it is also full of catfish so i just ran in and out.
We stayed for 2 nights and had to camp just off the beach (sand is so uncomfortable to sleep on). We were also surrounded by wild Dingos, which became aggressive if you fed them. We had a meeting about how to defend ourselves from them........very useful, back away with your arms folded and if they become aggressive, become aggressive back. Me against a Dingo i dont think so.
Well we will try to upload photos again soon, and hope everyone is ok.
Lots of Love
Nikki and Tom xXx
