I left for Canberra this morning at 6am, and my bus wasall booked for 9am, all i had to do was manage to get the ridiculous amountof belongings i have accumulated along my travels on a 90 minute train to the city. No problems so far, apart from the locals commuting to work were not happy with the amount of floor space i occupied, hear that? FLOOR SPACE, its not like i lay down on a whole row of seats and got an hours shut eye is it? Instead i sat next to by bags and just really enjoyed the time i spent staring at this really beautiful blonde bird, i got busted by her staring a few times but i really felt we got to know each other in no time at all, haha. She loved it though...... Its surprising how far a cheeky wink or smile gets you over here! I said most of them love it but im not going to lie, so do i.................... It was alittle trickier getting my bags off though when the train stopped, as you only get what seems like a second before the fu*king doors slam back on you and make you resemble more of a chicken snitzel shape (I have no idea how to spell that!) than anything remotely human like. So obviously during my time in Sydney i spent alot of time watching these trains, studying them, BEING THEM......... Alot of effort went in to understanding the timing of the doors, the movement and the best place to stand in order to be able to vacate the train in the quickest time possible. So i finally decided standing by the door, makes sense really :) and after making a few rough calculations i remember being shocked with the prospect of having about 0.05 seconds to evade this level of law enforcement of which is called GETTING STUCK SOMEWHERE AGAIN, this really was not an option this year, so all my plans are together, the Great Escape continues!
As the announcement comes on the train (Next Stop Is Central....) I decided to get my bags and decide on a suitable stance to get off the train in time, 3, 2, 1........ The doors open and as i come to the step..... i trip over. I know that will no doubt make a few people at home laugh, especially after the sheer amount of effort and determination i showed, but please just try and understand the huge amount of people that use the train service and Central Station in Sydney at that specific time, its packed. So alot of laughs and very weird looks, but then out of no where comes a young lady who i would soon go on to know as Emma, and she helps me up and moves my bags a side 'happens to alot of people' she said, i just smiled. absolute angel. Being the gentleman i am you know, i offered to take her for a coffee or something to say thank you, although there were a few other ways i would have liked to say thank you, but i thought this option would be safer. Emma was heading to Canberra that day, but not until 12.30, so i sat and had a chat for a while then had to make my way to the bus depot. I arrived at the bus station 45 minutes early in order to make sure therewere no problems, they only usually ask you to check in 20minutes prior, but i just wanted to be sure. Mixed emotions when i got there i suppose as i find out that the Customer Service agent on the phone told me TWICE my bus left at 9am, but it didnt did it, it left at 8am. 'The next bus to Melbourne sir, leaves at........ 8pm tonight, shall i book you on for then?' Asked the fat C*NTROLLER
