The train ride was easily the worst journey of the trip so far. Once again we had the carridge with the broken AC so it was warm and had plenty of locals talking loudly. We managed a bit of sleep but were both feeling pretty rough the next morning. Our arrival into Hue was delayed by 2 hours so we spent 15 hours sat on the train and really couldn't wait to get off!
Finally making our arrival in Hue we took the first sensible offer of a hotel that we could just to get some rest. They gave us a free transfer and we both pretty much collapsed into our AC'd room and spent the rest of the day sleeping. Charlie ventured out that evening to gather supplies but Tom was feeling to ill to move. She came back with sandwiches and water which were quickly dispatched before sleeping for the rest of the night!
Next morning we both ventured out for breakfast to test our stomachs and Toms bad head. We had a nice breakfast of fruit and sandwiches at a cafe and a quick wonder around the town. Tom soon discovered that all still wasn't well though and a hasty retreat was made to the hotel room!
We spent most of the day resting but ventured out mid afternoon hoping to take in the sights. The weather had other ideas though forcing us into Stop and Go cafe where we had had breakfast. We had a really nice vietnamese coffee here and then beat a hasty retreat back to the hotel during a break in the rain. We had a relaxing afternoon and watched Social Network and Airplane 2. We then went and had a bit of dinner at Stop and Go. Giving into western food for the first time in a month Tom had a pizza and Charlie had a burger.
We then grabbed an early night hoping to be rejouvinated for the journey to Hoi An tomorrow.
