Hello again!

We are in Koh Chang at the moment a smallish island on the east coast of Thailand. everything is really cool except for the weather we have had one afternoon of sunshine crammed in between constant rain! we are trying to decide whether to stick it out- hoping rain like this cant go on forever or cut our losses and move on- think we'll know when we see the weather tomorrow morning!

We arrived on monday- we travelled on the bus from bangkok to the local port where we took the ferry across- which took about seven hours in all- fun fun fun! The rain seemed to start as soon as we got off the bus and it hasnt stopped much since! Its heavy tropical rain as well!

Anyway we have still been having fun despite the weather- we met some really nice people on the way over. We met three Swiss medical students from Geneva- Bob, Andrea and Eliane, a Swedish guy called Mattias who has come to Thailand for seven months, two American girls and a French couple. All were very nice and we have sepnt our time with them. There is a place called the Treehouse near where we are staying which has a sea front bar with hammocks and low tables. Its so easy to lose an afternoon or an entire day just realxing there- something we have become very good at! The food is also really good- Maria had a huge Red Snapper last night- barbecued and veyr fresh!

We went out one night to celebrate Andrea's birthday and ended up drinking a lot of buckets of i dont know what! We ended up having a dance battle in the middle of this club. Very funny! It seems at times as though there are no tourist on the island though so anytime we go anywhere we are made to feel very welcome! For example we went to a bar last night without realising it was the opening night and when we walked in everyone stood up and waited on us hand and foot- seemed a little weird at the time!

Everyone except Mattias has now left though so we are on our own again (HELP!- Tom ;)). most have gone to Koh Pan Ngan and that is where we are porbably going next. We may get a scooter tomorrow or we may leave- all down to the weather really! Its a shame because the island is really beautiful and has a national park in the middle so it would be nice to be able to explore it. We did however see some really cute monkeys yesterday...check out the photos!
