Okay so we have arrived in Penang after grabbing an hour and a half boat to the mainland and then a freezing cold bus for 3 hours to Butterworth and then a 15min ride on a ferry to the island of Penang! There is still way more travelling to do as we need to get to the otherside of the country by tomorrow!! All in all we would have travelled for 24 hours by the time we get to where we need to get to!

I bet your all asking why...why travel for so long to get somewhere? Well the answer is Ramadan! We need to get to the Perhentian Islands so we can finally chill (before they shut down for monsoon!) before the whole transport system in Malaysia shuts down for the religious festival of Eid! hey its all an experience...thats what we came for!

Anyway we are stuck in Penang for about 6 hours until we can get a bus over to Kota Bharu, where we need to get a taxi to Kuala Besut (if there are any we hoping there are even though we've been told there wont be!) where we can then get a boat to the island! phew!

For the few hours we've already been in Penang we have seen much of what we can see. We have walked through little India and then through China town...clash of cultures...but amazing to see. There aren't many tourists here which i quite like. We ate a great curry off a street vendor in Little India which was probably the best curry either of us had ever eaten! There is no where where you can just sit and chill in Penang...well we couldn't find a park and didn't really want to sit in a bar for 6 hours! It was so hot and humid and we were so tired of walking around that we cheekily found a really posh hotel lobby to sit in for an hour!! They didn't chuck us out thank god! There are perks to being western tourists!!

So anyway about 4 hours of waiting at a bus station with everyone staring at the only tourists around...great! See you on the Perhentian Islands...i hope! By the way it sounds like im moaning...im not...its fun...but now im tired...so maybe i am moaning...so what!
