Hey everyone
Well as you probably know by now we are back on the road again travelling. After not securing a more longer term role and sponsoring a visa for us to stay we sadly decided it was time to be heading home. But we have lots of travelling to do before we get there!
We are currently back in Sydney for a couple of days before we start our travelling up the east coast of oz. We have just been down to melbourne where we celebrated Holly's 30th birthday, however that is a big enough adventure for us to write another blog!
So our our last month or so has been filled with seeing lots of Sydney for the last time on this trip as well as lots of big events! In March, Tom went to the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne with friends and had one of the best weekends ever. The group were amazingly able to secure corporate hospitality passes for the whole weekend, which just made the whole experience so much better. For qualifying and the race we were right on the main straight above the team garages and were able to spend time in the pits seeing the teams practicing their stop times until they were perfect. Just the smallest error can make such a huge difference in the race situation and it was incredible to see them so close at hand. Where we were positioned for the race also overlooked the podium so we were metres from Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton as they soaked each other in champagne! A truely once in a lifetime experience that Tom will never forget!
The following weekend we also were invited to an Australian wedding up in the Blue Mountains. Our lovely friends Kylie and Sam were getting married and we were so touched to have been invited! It was a stunning day and to see all the hard work that had gone into transforming the property from when we had been there at the end of last year was amazing.
As with everywhere you go you meet so many fantastic people, but we have been particularly blessed to meet so many lovely people in Sydney and Perth as well as reconnect with old friends from uni/school who either live here now or were travelling and it's been sad to start to say our goodbyes over the course of the last few weeks.
Well tonight we leave on our big adventure up the east coast now as two 30 year olds!! (sorry holly had to get that in!) It should be quite an experience and I'm sure our backpacks our twice as heavy as they were in Thailand! It feels ever so slightly like we are on an episode of the Amazing Race as we have just said goodbye to a box of belongings which are being shipped back to the UK and its now a race back home... Who will win! Our route is a little more long winded going via NZ and the US but then it will be 3 months until that box reaches the Uk so maybe just maybe we will make it!
We hope everyone back home is well. Now we are back travelling we will write more often with our adventures but keep emailing us as we love to hear what everyone is up too.
Love T& H x
