We stayed an extra night in Cape Conran simply because it was so magnificently beautiful. The weather has been wonderful- between 25 and 32 degrees, very little wind and small, clean waves. We had a lovely swim after packing up the van and had the rare privilege of seeing a small red bellied black snake sunning itself in the grass behind the shower.
We drove to Daniel Miller's house in the Longford area just past Sale with a brief stop in Orbost for a bakery lunch. To say that we were not in a rush would be an understatement. For the first time, we actually have begun to slow down. Much discussion around the origins of the name of Sale. Creative suggestions included the thought that it may have been the home to the first big livestock sales back when the first landholdings were developed. Wikipedia provided the answer however - Sale was named after a distinguished British officer of the same name. No surprise there then.
