Borneo is truly an amazing place! Since climbing the mountain, we have been spent a day at a paradise island snorkelling, been to an orang-utang sanctuary and spent two nights in the jungle. We're now heading for Semporna, which has some of the best diving in the world. All within a week - the range of nature, wildlife and natural beauty is impressive.

The organ-utang sanctuary was fantastic! The one we went to houses baby orang-utangs before they go to the larger sanctuary when they are a bit older to learn how to live in the wild before they are released. Did you know that over 97% of our DNA is the same? Their characteristics really are very human - it's kind of weird really!

The following day we took a boat out to one of the islands for a days relaxing and snorkelling (this was still about as much as we could manage as we were still in quite a bit of pain!). There was a huge amount of colourful fish (lots of Nemos!) and corals. We took some bread out to feed the fish and were literally attacked by 100s of them - they were all over us (which freaked me out a bit!). I don't know if the 2 second memory thing is really true as they seemed to know exactly what we were up to and then followed us even when we didn't have any food left!

Next day it was off to the jungle for two nights. We took some boat safaris and did some treks (nothing too strenuous thankfully!). We saw crocodiles, lots of monkeys and birds, and some scorpians and terantulas (not sure how to spell that!). And, a millipede that if you rub its back it releases a liquid that smells just like amaretto... how weird is that!! The camp was very basic - no running water, just the muddy water from the river to wash in... and it rained on our second night so the mud was unbelievable... Glastonbury folk you don't even know what mud is until you've seen this!

And then today we moved on to Semporna for the diving/snorkelling, (and a hostel with proper showers!). Hopefully we'll also go out to stay on one of the islands for a couple of nights.... they look AMAZING!!!
