We've been back for a week, been really bad at answering the inevitable question "So, what's it like being back?" and gravitating back to a chilly, horse meat obsessed UK!
I've never felt so refreshed getting off a 'plane at 6.00am and it has been very easy getting back into the swing of things, it's just a different comfort blanket of things you like to do!
It was a most wonderful trip, seamless, faultless and everything you could wish for. The highlights were many but they all need some texture so that you understand no one thing, place, event was best, just part of an unbelievable whole. So, after 41 days, 27 flights, 20 hotels, 11 counties, three visas, 8 full pages of stamps in the passport and 38,000 miles the plaudits go to;
Top 10 days;
1) Angkor Wat second day, sunrise, sunset, different temples, tasting menu
2) Melbourne, day 3, market with the performing family, Djokavic's epic game, golf, gig, food, beer, it's a shame some
3) Adelaide second day including Barossa and McLaren Vale and Arry's Verandah.
4) Boracay second day, beaches, very chilled, yoga, great weather.
5) Yogyakarta second day, Borabadur, the Royal Palace and fantastic Asian meal inspired by a Frenchman!
6) Seoul second day, the demilitarised zone, snow, funky areas, deserted palaces and the most amazing croissant!
7) Old Bagan, the balloon ride, temples at sunrise, great guide and fantastic vegetarian meal! In hearing about the Luxor ballooning disaster you realise the different standards between companies and countries, if you are not 100% comfortable, don't do it!
8) Lake Inle, just stunning to spend 6 hours on the water, see something totally unique, marvel at people and eat like a king!
9) Luang Prabang, a unique stop made even more so by the reality it may well get over subscribed by tourists in the future
10) Chiang Doh was a beautiful, serene experience of Thailand, great spot and a much needed insight into Thailand.
