MY FINAL THOUGHTS - DEAN
"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many
of our people need it sorely...Broad, wholesome, charitable views
cannot be acquired by vegetating in one's little corner of the earth."
Mark Twain, Innocents Abroad
This is my final sentiment as I arrive back in England. During the last few months I have opened my eyes to many different ways of life, which has led me to think there are many ways I would like to change about the way I live mine.
Amongst the many things I would like to change, is the way I eat, exercise, spend money and interact with other people. Furthermore I would like to encourage everyone I know to pursue as many life enriching experiences as possible; do everything you can, within your means; to change the way you live, the way you think and the way you treat other people. This I believe can all be initiated through independent travel, and opening your eyes to the world. Ditch the travel agents and their excessive fees, invest in a backpack, book your own flights and create your own experiences. Even if your destination is only as far as Spain, you will have a far richer experience and see the real place and the real people if you travel outside of the package resorts. This also costs only a fraction of the price!
Anyway that's my two pence, until next time.
I hope we have inspired our nearest and dearest to leave their little corner of the world or even to explore their little corner more thoroughly and to generally make the most out of this life, because it is only very short.
We have had an amazing experience and I hope that everyone who has followed our travels has enjoyed the escapism, from the daily grind, provided by site.
Adios
Dean
