Dean and Claire's t'internet travel journal
Don't worry Mum. I haven't been feeding tigers in the wild (hence the photo on the postcard) ...the monkeys were fierce enough for me!
Well, three days ago we left Phi Phi by boat. Oh the fun. After ten minutes on the ocean wave, people began reaching for their life jackets (IT WAS THAT BAD!) Some people were being sick, one of the windows even cracked and Dean was clutching at his pressure points and sussing out the exits. It wasn't the most fun experience of my life but it was definitely a memeorable one!
We stayed one night in Krabi before heading to Koh Lanta, where we stayed for two days with a lovely Thai family. Koh Lanta was pretty desserted; another victim of the tsunami, though Lanta seems to suffer more from lack of tourists as it is not as publicised as places like Phi Phi and Phuket. Still, their lack of tourists meant that accommodation prices were significantly reduced and we ended up with a really cool room for a very good price. On our second day there we did a Thai cooking course where we learned how to make Thai green curry and a massaman, though I doubt my version will taste much like theirs! *Claire whacks Dean for nodding in agreement and murmuring something about burning...*
Yesterday we travelled into Malaysia, where we were greated by a massive storm. The weather over here has been pretty temperamental, though a lot nicer today. I'll be back with stories of malaysia soon. Claire x
