Spring is (almost) here...
Greetings from Melbourne this time! Right after landing in Melbourne I realized I have not enough clothes with me to wear in this chilly city. The cold wind really 'shocked' me on the streets of Melbourne when I was heading to the shop where Tiia works. Walking with the 20kg backpack and a lighter smaller one luckily kept me warm. My plane happened to be one hour delayed which was only a good thing cause as I arrived in the shop called SABA Tiia could leave immediately.
I have been here now for two days but there's not much I can share with you. I have only been to two restaurants, Jamaican and Mexian ones, walked a bit in the park nearby and seen some shops of the many that are along the Chapel Street. Tiia's holiday started today and we'll head to the center after we make ourselves ready - that might take hours with Tiia.
As said it's chilly here. If in Sydney I could still wear surfpants and T-shirt here it's impossibility. I donät have even one pair of long pants. I have been exploring Tiia's closets and finding something to wear. As she works in a clothing shop there is where to choose from....the only problem is that we don't share the same size. Fortunately I have found me some good things to wear, for.ex. a jacket and a scarf. Might need to buy a pair of jeans or pants which I thought I would not need in this country.
I almost forgot that I went to visit one attraction. It's called Shrine of Remembrance - "Victoria's memorial to the men and women who served Australia in armed conflicts and peacekeeping missions throughout our Nation's history". There's a large memorial building with a large paved square in front of it. Outside there stands a statue and a fire burns. Flags are taken down sharp five and honour is made.
I'll write some more later.
