Sabaai-dii (Hello) in laos. for thoses of y who have not a clue where laos is it is below China, above Cambodia and sandiwched between Vietnam and Thailand with a tiny bit of boarder next to myanmar (burma). Haven't done a blog in ages so thought I would do one here as we are goled up in an internet cafe for a good few hours becuase it is claerly tyhe hottest most humid place I have ever been to!.

We flew up from Bangkok to Changmai tehn got a boat down the meekong river which took two days with an overnight stop in a random rural village in the middle of the jungle. We have arrived in Luang Prabang i think the old capital of Laos until the revolution in whcih the king and his entire family were exiled to the very north of the country and were never herd of agin. Luang prabang is a UNESCO World Heritage site because it fantastic mixture of ancient temples and french colonial architecture. We are goign to eb here for a few days then get a bus donw to Vientien the new capital.

Everything is going smootlery though the currecny here is a night mere to work out as they use three. Thai Baht, USD and Skipp their own currency with is worth nothing and yu end up using 60,000 skipp for a room for the night with is about 6USD. But making sure yu dont get ripped of in your change when buying somthing is the problem as yuo will pay in Thai baht or USD and they will give yu Laos Skipp but not enough.

Anyway thins hasn't stopped Becky buying general crap from markets and so fouth. She has bought enough local products in Thailand here to choke a goat and is planning on purchansing mroe tonight in the night market here in luang prabang.
