After driving down the most scenic road we had come across so far we made it to Nelson Lakes and it was breath taking. After Raglan we went to Rotorua and were pretty fasinated by the fact everything coming from the ground was boling (mud, water etc) with random patches of steam everywhere and geezers. This all caused by the geothermal activity close to the surface of the ground. Time for our much awaited dolphin safari, we jumped on the boat and headed out awaiting a radio call with coordinates of where to find some dolphins. We were extremely lucky that someone radioed in that a whale had been spotted and a Manta Ray, our driver floored it towards the sighting and sure enough a mother and her calf (whales) and a massive Manta Ray came to say hi. On Friday (10th) we headed to the campervan rental place to pick up our van for the next 6 and a half weeks. On our way there we realised we had actually booked the van for the 11th DOH! Ok so we arrived at Kuala Lumper after a 12 hour flight and after declining plane curry for breakfest (which normally I would say yes to after 10 pints of cider).
