Tim, Chris and Edd´s And James's Long Ol' Adventur
Hi,
okay, so the Taj Mahal isn't in Laos - you got me.
Am now in beautiful Luang Prabang after a 6hr boat (tiny little covered canoe thing) trip down from a place called Nong Kiaw which is right in the mountains surrounded by caves and beautiful scenery. Shame about the army testing their newest toys which echoe throughout the hills and made me think I'd landed in a war zone when the bike dropped me off.
It took 2 days hitch hiking to get there which was full of experiences I hope I'll never forget. Being without a girl is a definite negative as some of the long distance lorries especially don't seem to appreciate it as much when I show em a bit of skin. Just joking. All went a smooth as could be hoped and had wicked rides on struggling motorbikes, painfully slow tractors and speeding pick-ups. And yeah, there were yet more unbelievable experiences stopping in the middle of nowhere where the kids crowd round and bring you a chair to sit on while you sit on the road waiting for a vehicle while they stand around staring. Wicked.
Think I'm gonna spend a few days here as actually has reliable services and hot showers plus its like no other city I've ever been in. It's more of a town actually with a big night market lighted solely by candles and selling tonnes of silk and other stuff which I'll have a longer look at when I'm not so tired. Man am I tired.
Chris
