A long day driving, awaking to take tents down in the rain for the first time ... departing one camp at 0700 and arriving at Hippo Hill Camp 12 hours later. We did stop for half an hour as we crossed the equator and watched the water on both sides and on it ... and it does spiral in different directions and then go straight down. We also had a small mechanical break during lunch whilst David fixed a few things on the truck - it took an hour & litres of water....

A day that was largely about driving with a 2 hour stop at a shopping mall. We arrived in Entebbe about 1530 hours and once we'd got ourselves set up decided to go and find the shore of Lake Victoria for the first time in this trip. Final day in Jinja, Tessa & I joined Hillary to learn how to cook local dishes with Fatima. She is an artist with her own shop at the gate of the camp and amongst other things she does classes in cooking. Today we have relaxed in campsite - downtime is good even when on adventures. We learnt the art of patience as we accessed the internet, did a week's worth of washing as the rain torrented down, and finished books.
