HAPPY WAITANGI DAY TO ALL OUR KIWI MATES - HOPE YOU HAD A GOOD DAY OFF!!

We left Big Bend National Park this morning and during a 245 mile ride to Del Rio there are two small items of excitement to report. The first meant quite a swift action for the old reactions for Neil as coming round a bend we encounter a number of deer in the middle of the road - around 5 or 6 we didn't have time to count the exact number! I can report that all was handled very smoothly but there was that split second when you don't know if the leader of the pack, and the one right in the middle of the road is going to stop, go back or go forward...... We had come to a virtual stop by the time the deer had made their mind up anyway. The second little piece of excitement was being stopped by a border patrol officer who actually wanted to look at our passports! Hey it was exciting for me!!

Almost at Del Rio we pass the Armistad Reservoir, a lovely piece of blue water, been a while since we have seen such a view! We are now at Del Rio and will be heading to San Antonio tomorrow for a few days.
