Ho chi min is craaazzy! Lots of zipping mopeds and busy markets! First of all we book a trip to the Mekong Delta. The Mekong river runs from Nepal right through Asia and finishes in Vietnam where it splits into 5 different rivers! So as we were in Vietnam we decide to go and see where the famous river splits into 5! We take a boat down the river which is very murky and we didn't really see where the river splits, but the day was fun! We saw where they make coconut sweets and went to a bee farm where we tried a local delicacy tea with honey, we also tried some local fruits whilst listening to some vietnameese ladies singing on a little island in the middle of the Mekong!
In Ho Chi Min is also the famous Cu cui tunnels, the tunnels were used by the vietnameese soldiers in the war to hide from the American soldiers. The tunnels were made very small we got to go down them, the tunnels were made bigger for tourists to go down so they were much smaller in the war! And they were tiny, we had to go through some parts on our hands and knees. The soldiers lived in the tunnels for up to 6 months!! We also saw the hand made traps used by the vietnameese to capture and kill the Americans, they were very brutal!!
We ended our time in Ho chi min by getting into the local culture and doing as the locals do by going to see a water puppet show, very bizarre as it was all in vietnameese and it was puppets in water but we still had a laugh! Oh and Kee face had her first ever curry!!!!!
