We slept well, and didn't crash into each other in the night, with 2 double beds for the four of us. Although we seem to all have different tollerances for the aircon.
After breakfast we rented out 4 motorbikes-come-mopeds, not really sure what they were, though they were manual, so that took a little bit of getting used to - but only one crash by Julia, but that was just a bit of static blunt force trauma to the leg.
We moped down the main street and found a loooovely bit of beach where we spent the morning and early afternoon. Though I had forgotten my towel, so went to buy one, and there was only one single towel for sale in the whole of Mui Ne for the equivalent of 26GPB, which I totally failed to banter down. So went back to the hostel and stole one from there.
After a few hours on the beach we went for lunch, then as soon as they had faffed around us in the restaurant getting the fans on and cleaning a table and folding napkins, we decided just to go back to the hostel where it was 1/5 of the price. Guilts.
Lunch was good, afternoon basking by the pool was good.
In the late afternoon we moped along to the famous red sand dunes of Mui Ne, these are an unexpected crop of dunes about 15kiloms from the main bit. 100000kids hassled us to make us board down the dunes, but the walk back up every time did not appeal and it was actually quite busy with Vietnamese holiday makers there so we just browsed the dunes, then went back down. The shop outside which we had parked up insisted that we had a coke there to pay for our lengthy stay so we did just this, until I burped and they all looked offended.
Grandpa tried to get us to pay 100 thou EACH for the cokes but we whittled it down to a mere 20 thou (80p) which is still probs a rip off.
We buzzed back as the sun set and went into the main bit to book our tickets for the sleeper bus to Hoi An the following day. Then back to the hotel for a spruce before going back out for dinner.
Dinner was aaamaaazing, very attentative service from these lovely Vietnamese girls with looong soft hair, and even a moped-valet service for us on arrival and departure. The beef here is loooovely.
We bought another bottle of Vang Dalat and headed back to the hostel where we drank it by the pool before retiring to the room where we'd left the aircon on 16 degrees for so long it was literally arctic.
A really nice holiday-y day.
Sleep.
