Waiting for a pizza in the old city of Jerusalem. Still have a lot of trouble eating - scuba diving makes it worse biting on the mouthpiece all day.
S.S. Thistlegorm was so incredible. We did two dives each about 40 minutes - one around the outside and one inside the wreck. Inside you can see hundreds of motorbikes, a bathroom, kitchen and many other things including fish. We also did a drift dive at the nearby Ras Mohamed notional park which is equally as impressive.
Managed to catch my bus to taba at 10am but missed my bus from Eilat to Jerusalem (forgot that the Egyptians are an hour behind because they refused to change to summer time this year). Caught anotherone to tel aviv and changed half way when the driver told "mr Jerusalem" to. No one could understand why there was one person too many on the bus to Jerusalem and the driver kept stopping the bus to shout at people and threaten to kick them off, eventually someone payed him to shut up and drive and all was well. Crossing the border was easier than anticipated. I was charged £150 (Egyptian) to leave and the Israeli visa is free. It took about an hour with lots of questions and queuing but they didn't even search my bag (which is lucky because the Quran in my bag probably would have invited many more questions).
Jerusalem is full of character and beauty. So many people are hassidic Jews, they look scary in their uniform. Also the women wear clothes you would expect to see back in the 1940s and alot of teenage girls are in military uniform (they have to join for 2 years from age 18, the men for 3 years). Most of the girls here also have hair which is a nice change from Egypt.
Also the music here is so much better than the Egyptian I learnt to block out. They even have classical playing here sometimes.
Picture is of the dead sea which we drove past yesterday on the way to Jerusalem.
