Hello Everyone,
Welcome to a very delayed blog entry about London. I went to London 3 times at the end of July for the last 3 weekends of July. Firstly I arrived from London from Ibiza early morning on the 16th of July. It was good to return back to a english speaking country and a different scene, coming from the clubbing island of the World. I was lucky this time to get free accomodation for 3 nights from very close family friends who live in north London. I´d already been clubbing the last 6 nights in a row but the bender wasn´t gonna stop in London. That night I arrived I met up with Luke N and the 2 other boys he was traveling with. That was good as it was the first time I had seen a mate for 5 weeks. That night we went to the Ministry of sound club, which turned out to be quite a fun night ;). We all payed 15 pounds entry, but it was worth it, the club had a good crowd and one of the nicest clubs I´ve ever been too. We ended up meeting a group of European girls around our age who were living in London studying english. At one stage there was 10 girls and only 3 of us guys, not a bad ratio. After the club we all went back to their apartment for what they called the after party.....
The next 2 days were pretty cool, did some sightseeing and saw all the main attractions I didn´t see when I came to London 7 years ago. After 3 nights I caught a bus to Edinburgh.
I then returned to London the next weekend on the 23rd of July for the Warriors Dance Festival in Milton Keynes. I stayed at one of the biggest party hostels in London, but I wasn´t in London that weekend to party. On saturday the 24th of July I got a decent feed then caught the train to Milton Keynes, the train was only about 30 mins. This was one festival I was really looking foward too. As it has The Prodigy headlining with Pendulum, Enter Shikari, Chase & Status & Does it Offend You Yeah? all back to back all on the same stage! It was an epic day with 65000 people it was the biggest show The Prodigy have ever Played. The crowd was wild with circle pits all over the shop and it was good to see all these massive bands on their home turf. Pendulum was another highlight! Hopefully you saw the photos on facebook and I took some good videos that hopefully I can upload sometime. After getting back to London around midnight from the festival, I caught a train to Chichester where I stayed with my grandads brother for 5 nights.
I retutrnd to London for the third and final time on the 30th of July. I arrived at my hostel chilled for a few hours then caught the train to Victoria Park. Where I saw Pendulum & Tiesto! It was the second time I saw Pendulum Live in 6 days which is pretty Lucky! Although the only bad thing was the crowd werent as into Pendulum as last week becuase it was mostly just Tiesto fans and their all more into trance and that kinda thing. Tiesto was actually pretty good he played his classics as well as dropping some more mainstream remixes. So after being pretty b*****ed from a big day in Victoria Park, I rushed back to the hostel, got changed then caught the tube to Fabric. Fabric was a proper club and certainly one of the best clubs in the world music wise. Fabric has a big rep and it didnt disapoint. I left the club about 4am so I was fair b*****ed after all day at a festival then most of the night at Fabric! The next day I had to wake up early then caught a bus to Global Gathering which is one of the biggest electronic festivals in the UK. The bus was a 2 and a half hour drive. The festival lasted for 16 hours from 2pm - 6am (sunday). The festival was huge with 10 stages and each stage was a different genre of music which was sweet! It was very easy to stage hop. I had another epic time at this festival with lots of photos to show! I arrived back in London on sunday lunch time got my bags then caught a bus to Paris!
This blog was very rushed but better than nothing, until next time. stay safe!
Regards,
Whytie
