Hey everyone just about to leave Boston and what a trip it has been. Unfortunately colder and wetter than scotland (believe it or not) and the warm weather clothes we brought not standing up too well!! We last left you having been to the science museum so day 2 involved a visit to Quincy market filled with hundreds of stalls selling every kind of snack you could imagine from clam chowder to mac and cheese!! We managed to fill our bellies just walking through munching on all the freebies each stand was giving away (now hardened traveller or more like feeling the pinch from the extravagance of NYC!). Took in a few sights at the harbour and with our weathered cheeks we soon took refuge in a bar called sissy K's full of drunken students celebrating graduation. After our drinks we stumbled to china town for a bite to eat and fell into the busiest chinese restaurant we could find! We ordered a portion of calamari and a main course to share between us and to tracys horror they had deep fried the bodies and the tentacles of the squid. (see the videos when we upload them!!) . Day 3 was a visit to fenway park where the boston red sox play we had accidently picked a day when they were playing so we couldnt do the tour but were lucky to get caught up in the buzz of the game day atmosphere. Then on to Harvard to see where all the clever people go! The late afternoon involved walking the freedom trail a 5 mile round trip which ma not sound like much but when you have already walked 10 miles it feels like a marathon (see the photos of tracy at the end!!). Hobbled along the road to the nearest italian for dinner and then home to bed!! Morning of day 4 collected our car for the marathon road trip to niagra. Booked an economy car but when we turned up we were upgraded as there were no ford focus and ended up with a subaru impreza!! Must be the only two backpackers in the US with a sports car, happy days!!
love to you all M&T xxx
