Arrived in Bangkok at 3pm. We had to wait in terrible long lines for the passport control. After finally got through custom we found a car service to take us to our hotel We paid 1000 bath for the car which is about 20 pounds. We know now we could get it cheaper but we only wanted to get to the hotel fast and easy so it was worth paying the money.
We stayed at the Century park hotel which is a 4 star hotel. It was really nice with a fully equipped gym, a nice pool and big restaurant with buffets. We went straight to the pool after checking in to get the last sun of the day. Unfortunately the water in the jaccuzzi was cold so we didn't spend too long time there.
We went back to the gym to get ready for a workout. The gym was really good. I did shoulders and Kris did arms. To fuel up our bodies we decided to have the dinner buffet in the restaurant. It was so many meat dishes to choose from. We both could feel how we started to get tired from the trip after the food. We decided to head out in the night and go to Khosan road for some hours instead of going to bed.
It was a crazy road with tons of people and food where ever you turned your head. Many drunk European where partying hard in the pubs. Thai people tried to sell everything to us and the most annoying was the women with wooden frogs. They kept making noise with them all the time to make us buy them.
I ended up buying a pair of flip flop and Kris bought a t-shirt for Neil. Believe it or not we found oa Starbuck cramped up in an alley with small temples. We were amazed how god the coffee tasted here. Next to Starbucks was a little temple with lots of flowers and fruits for the gods. There was so many cats sleeping in the temples. I saw somehting move in the street below me and I thought it was kittens. Kris laughed and told me to look again. It was big rats running aorund!!! Yuck, I was jumping high and hurried out to the big road again.
They had loads of massage places by the road and we decided to have a fish pedikyr in one place. You put your feets in a tank with hundreds of small fishes. The fishes eats all the old hard skin of your feet and make them really soft. Kris paniced first since he had hundreds of fishes on his feet and it was tickling bad. He calmed down after a while by trying to think of something else and breathe deep breaths. After 2 hours on Khosan road we decided to go to the hotel to get some sleep. We needed to rest and recover so bad!
