The travels of Karyn and Robert
We are finally in Prestento. We were met by Etzia and Maria Grazia (Maurizio's wife and Robert's cousin respectively. Interestingly we found our bags and just walled out of the terminal, no customs due to the EU arrangements - the only custom control was in France. Still no sleep ...
Prestento is in full summer bloom (having always visited in winter, this is colourful change). Cividale de Friul is just as magnificent, worthy of its UNESCO World Heritage listing.
We spent the afternoon walking around the Medieval streets, window shopping and watching the world go by at the Cafe San Marco. Still no sleep ...
Victoria you will be happy, I took plenty of photos. Still no sleep ...
Paul and Kate will appreciate the evening. After a flying visit to Zia Delfina and Amy, we arrived back at Maurizio's and Etzia's with the table to the laid out with glasses wine, nibbles. A quick rush upstairs for a change, the ladies had changed and had on their summer evening finest. Victoria you were correct in saying I should pack the wedges!! I was not in leaving then at home.
I was settled in for the evening sitting on outside at Prestento, glass in hand, trying my best lack of sleep italian, when it was time to go - what! Off to a taverna we go, more food, more wine, still no sleep...
Finally at midnight, after 30 hours wake, sleep ....
