When I was a girl I read about a tiny strip of land in Europe called Liechtenstein. Sunday I fulfilled a wish to one day visit the micro-country squeezed between Switzerland and Austria. The castle on the hill is still occupied by the ruling family and now not open to the public. We did visit the LandesMuseum, which does a good job of educating visitors to the history and culture of Liechtenstein.
At the Information Bureau, for three Swiss Francs, my passport was stamped, Fürstentum Liechtenstein. I was not the only one buying this novelty.
The streets were very crowded as we began to walk through the Städtle, or small town. We noticed an antique Post Auto. How charming I thought. Then the crowd parted for another antique vehicle, and to our delight we realized we had walked into the middle of an Old Timer Treffen, a meeting of vintage and antique automobile owners. Was I ever glad we chose to visit Liechtenstein that day.
The photos posted of the cars are identified according to the printed bulletin offered to the meet visitors. Some autos were unable to be identified using the bulletin, but are a pleasure to view just the same.
Another fine day brought satisfaction as I crossed one more item from my list.
