Ushuaia
Dragoman Day 21 - Day 23
January 13th - January 17th
Day 315 - Day 319

To get to Ushuaia we had to bush camp by the Chile/Argentinian border at San Sebastian. Overall it took a day and a half's worth of driving. Once we were there it was pretty exciting to be at the southern most city of the world!!
One exciting thing for us was that we passed two other Dragoman trucks enroute. One packing up to leave in Ushuaia, we couldn't help but compare truck and passengers and of course ours was much better and cooler.

That afternoon we took a tour of Tierra Del Fuego national park, we were all tired and glad that the tour meant driving to all the view points and taking some photos. I couldn't help but get a Tierra Del Fuego stamp for my passport, Chris of course informed me it wasn't allowed but I didn't listen.

That evening we went to a local restaurant for our last Dragoman meal together. It was a great evening that resulted in us going to the traveller hotspot.. An Irish bar! We consumed many drinks and I even persuaded people to do shots with me.. Some of us girls decided to start a new secret club to rival the boys 'gay wolf pack' and decided on the 'gay care bear club' with individual names as well.

The next day with sore heads we had to pack our bags and check into our respective new hostels. Four of the group left earlier that morning. We spent the next couple of days chilling and eating with the rest of the group until one by one everyone started leaving. Chris, me and Jess were the last ones left.

On our last full day Chris and I did a walk with the penguins tour where you get taken to a penguin island to watch them. Chris got to cross the Beagle channel and was happy. We spent an hour on the island and saw Megallanic and Gentoo penguins. We even saw a King penguin that was lost and had been on the island for a couple of weeks. As it is was the end of the breeding season there were lots of chicks around. I couldn't believe how close they were, at times they were only inches away. I was very tempted to try and steal one but refrained.

Tomorrow we fly to Buenos Aires with Jess. I am looking forward to some warmth.
