Hey everyone! First of all thank you so much for all the replys - it's great to hear from everyone and to have a little piece of home so far away! Keep them coming! When i've got some more pics I'll try and put them on here. We are now in Melaka, Malaysia which is a pretty small coastal town famous for some historical defining history reason or other but to be honest our tour leader told us when we were all relaxing in the jacuzzi after a 5 hour bus journey and I don't think anyone was listening to him! So yes after 5 hours on a bus (fairly decent public transport) and a few interesting hiccups - i.e our taxi driver nearling running over a woman on our way to the bus station and nearly leaving 2 of our group behind at Singapore customs (!) - we eventually arrived here! It was a gorgeous day yesterday and so we mainly spent it on the roof terrace in and out of this great big jacuzzi - hardship i tell you! Our hotel is really nice (apparantly it's all down hill from here) and it has 'proper' toilets and everything unlike the wonderful squat toilets we encountered on the bus journey here. Hmmm. Not impressed! Last night we had a great local meal in the restaurant next to our hotel and then headed for a bar where we all got rather rather drunk! Mainly because there was this Malaysian guy there who our tour leader knew and who kept buying us buckets of beers in order to show us how friendly Malaysians are! Needless to say we all think Malaysians are wonderful friendly people! Only got into bed at about 3.30am - oh dear. Max (girl am sharing a room with who's great) and I only got up this morning (or should i say afternoon) when woken by the cleaner and needless to say again we had slight headaches. It was raining here today though and so lucklily we chose a good day sleep in! Headed for some lunch with the others and had a great meal for under 2 pounds - madness! Later on we may do some exploring but there isn't that much to see here, just wish the weather would improve now! Off to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow. Lots of love to you all, will update soon. Sam xxx
