The kids are VERY disappointed. The TV's on this huge bus offer only Turkish channels and movies. Ever wonder what Kung Fu Panda would sound like in Turkish? This bus has a stewardess. Nice. So we made the bus after a day of wandering around the beautiful city of Varna.
Varna is a city whose population jumps from 350k to 1M through the summer months. And you have to admit, the long, white, sandy beaches ARE pretty attractive. I love the plazas in Eastern Europe, these broad open places in the city that are usually cobblestoned, surrounded by coffee shops and eccentric little stores, usually a statue and/or fountain in the center. I think we should have one in Fort St. John. Maybe a statue of Steve Haab or Terry Price in the middle :-).
And Sara's getting her shopping fix. I think it's a weekly thing. We took another run to the beach as well to get one more dip in the Black Sea. It was beautiful and a little less crowded than the resort beaches.
Spent our last couple hours in Varna in the closest thing to an American mall that you'll find out here. And even a food court with some familiar names like Subway!
So we're all on board and ready for some shut-eye. You'll hear more from me when we get to Turkey...for sure!
