Well off to Thailand now, I have to say i will be sad to leave Vietnam definitely a place I would like to explore more.
We had a late breakfast/ early lich and then headed down to the market to check out some more bargains. After that we went to the war museum. I am not into politics, but the photographs were quite graphic, it was disturbing, mostly because it was so recent. My youngest was 2 when the war ended! I just cannot comprehend how a so called supernation can do what they did. They are still suffering the effects today of the napalm / agent orange, you see it everywhere I'm the horrific birth abnormalities . So glad we were never involved in that conflict withy dad being a serving soldier all his life. I can't imagine him ever doing any of those awful things and I would never be able to tell his grandchildren!
We wandered back and Victoria had a bit of a run In with a speeding motorbike on the path! But she's fine, just whinging!!!
Got back to the hotel for a rest and just nodding off when they decided they wanted to clean the room so we got up and showered and headed down to the river. Our room still hasn't been cleaned!!!
We boarded a huge boat with 3 levels for a dinner cruise.
Dinner was the most expensive we've had in Vietnam - £16 for both of us including drinks, lots of , and cruise. It was also the worst! Neither of us ate it. We set sail for a cruise down the Saigon river which was lovely - you can't see the pollution in the dark! - it was also nice and cool.
We decided to walk home, I think we managed to cover the whole of ho chi Minh . We walked bloody miles! Did eventually find our way back, to clean washing, but still no clean room!
