hey all!
Hope things are well in the states. I just got back from a beautiful vacation in chachapoyas, which is in the department of amazonas. As you can see from the picture, I was SUPER happy to get out of the sand dunes, and into the mountains and rain. (and have kept that splash of Teigan personality) It rained every day, and I'm not upset about that. Its probably more rain than what I have seen for my entire service. We went to a beautiful waterfall, the third biggest in the world, the ruins of chachapoyas, caves with vampire bats, and on hikes and to the country side of the mountains. Its all amazing, and I would say it was my favorite vacation so far. Unfortunately, this will be my last vacation here in peru. With no more vacation days, and only 4 months left of service, I am confined to my site. (4 months straight in my site! I dont know if I can take it!)
Now that I am back in site, its full chamba (work) for me. Peace Corps Volunteers who started a year after me are going to have training in my site! They are going to learn about the solar panel project that I am starting, as well as build a bathroom for my latrine project. Training is in one month, so I really need to get these projects started!
Happy travels,
Teigan
