While waiting on the ferry to Koh Tao to leave, I was chatting to a guy, I think from Isreal. He was telling me about this really cool sun-set bar.

On our last day on Koh Phangan, wanting a chilled night, we decided to check it out for ourselves.

The Amsterdam Bar was, we decided, what Ferdl would decribe as the ultimate place in the world. "Ferdl would love this place." - "Ferdl would want to get f***ing burried in this place!"

After a short but steep walk up the hill, into island forest you reach a big terrace, overlooking the sea, seeing Samui and Tao. Everything is covered with pillowes and classic Reaggie songs blast out of the speakers.

When we got there a pair of bohos (def. missing the chic), so impossibly stoned they must have fallen into a pot of weed, were struggeling to keep their pants on while dancing.

Although the bar filled up pretty fast (from 4 to full in probs an hour...) it was still super relaxed as general mood was really relaxed. A nice change to the usual intense nights of P. How better to lay back than enjoying a G&T and a marvoules sunset?!

The drive back to the hotel was crazy though!! It took us two taxis and a friendly french guy to get back... I really thought I'm going to be kidnaped and sold.
