Scince our last blog we have moved on again - we are now in Ho chi minh, Vietnam.
We flew from Hong Kong on the 17th in the eve ariving here at about 22.30 the same eve. The hostel came and picked us up from the airport which was a relief as we were quite tired. We are back in the crazy traffic zone again . . . All road sighns and road rules are treated more as guidelines. Definately looking both ways before crossing and checking there is nothing rolling down the pavement either!
The hostel is very nice, we have our own room for a while which is nice and they have a movie channel which has mad max on at the mo - I didn't say it was a good movie channel!
We spent our first day here at the war museum -while we were waiting to go in we witnised our first theft - a dodgy looking chap (who we had clocked already) on a moped snatched a ladies necklace and drove off! Good start to the day . . .
The museum was quite sobering as you might expect, I found the exhibition about the war photographers especially compelling. Half way through our visit the heavens opened - it is monsoon season afterall. So we wandered round the gift shop to avoid the rain then gave up and got wet. (We also got scoped out by another dodgy bike thief on the way home . . . Shame he was wearing a realllly obvious pink rain mack.)
Today we went on a tour to the Cao Dai Holy See temple to see the morning prayers. The temple was beautifull. We spent some time listening to the service beffore heading to the Cu Chi tunnels - where the guerilla forces faught the americans during the war.
We crawled through a 100m stretch of the tunnels - we both thought it was very small untill we learned that they have been widened twice for tourists! They were only big enough to crawl down on your face originally.
The tunnels were very interesting - I definately want to learn more about the war while we are here.
Tommorow eve we are moving on to Nha Trang to soak up some rays on the beach! Yay.

Mum R hello x sounds like an interesting place to look like a tourist!! What is the temperature like there? Going to the beach for a while sounds perfect. It's beginning to get a little chilly here though we still have a little bit of sunshine to stop us getting too depressed xx
jane hayhow Hello my loves. It sounds like you're having a very educational trip! Those tunnels souns scary. Don't wear your diamonds out Claire, lol. Enjoy the beach, love Jane. xx
Steve Taylor It is a little known fact fact that the guerrillas found the tunnels very ticklish. Became locally known as the Oochy Cu Chi Coo tunnels!
