Slept in late (really relaxing here) & decided to head down the coast road. We cannot get over how fast the Greeks drive, but even more frightening is the space they take up - almost in the middle, so they're basically coming straight at you. Not only do you have to contend with that (from the 'wrong' side of the road), but there are cats & dogs everywhere, & pedestrians who insist on walking on the road, even when there's a footpath. The 24th was spent relaxing, packing & then catching two planes to get to Crete. Agean is a wonderful airline - such smooth flights. Lovely sleep in, in another huge, comfortable bed. Went down for breakfast in the lovely dining room that overlooks the pool. What a gem this place is. Massive spread of delicious food to choose from. Got ready & went out to explore the old walled city. Not 5 minutes from our hotel, we could see how enormous this citadel was.
