Gorgeous breakfast on the terrace. This place really is out of this world. So high & still the peaks are higher. The moon rises right opposite the outside dining area, huge & majestic- and so late in the evening.
Walked into town this morning to see the view across the rooftops & church steeple, then met Nick in the square for a drink. The Bastille Day preparations are under way.
Walked through this historic village known for its boot trade & soldier past.
Went home for a delicious lunch of tomatoes, basil, cucumbers, cheese & bread, then it was time to lay around the pool in 37 degrees. Bliss.
About 7pm, Jill & Nick took us to the ruins in Bargeme. On the Wu, we stopped to see the goats that scale the mountainside & come right up to the road. Bargeme is a 14th Century splendour of archways, stone & chapels. What a beautiful place set in the pre-alps & now trying to carve a small permanent community. Listed in the 100 prettiest villages in the Provence.
Wandered around the laneways & steps before returning to a pork & olive casserole, potatoes & stir-fried vegetables, which Jill had pre planned. Delicious!! Sat chatting outside with yet another moon rising later over the peaks. What a perfect day.
