Next stop ITALIAAAAAAA. After a stop off at Swarovski crystal world/museum Venice was our first stop in Italy and to start off we had a beautiful two nights in a family run hotel on the main land of Venice. Some local Spritz, limoncello, pasta & meat was a great start to our Italian experience.Although Venice didn't have a nightlife, we had a night full of drinking games and confessions that turned a quiet night into a very rowdy one. Not too late of a night we then had a full day on the sinking island of Venice the next day. A whole lot of shopping was accomplished by me and Fran: leather bags, bikinis, masks, souvenirs. After hours of shopping we had a well deserved lunch of some traditional food, pretty interesting although I haven't been blown away by their foods. We then went to a Morano glass demonstration which was so ridiculous! They look as though they are using toffee instead of glass incredible!! We then took the stunning Gondola ride under the small bridges and between grand buildings & one of the boys proposed to his girlfriend and she said YES. It was so damn beautiful. We then headed to our booked masquerade dinner. It was a great night with 8 courses (RIDICULOUS) couldn't actually comprehend having seafood, different types of pastas, risottos and meats all in one dinner.. Anyway it's Italy so very expected. We had a sax player who made the atmosphere so beautiful. Although two Contiki groups in one place wasn't very romantic, but rather loud and crazy, PERFECT.
