Hi
Hope everyone is ok.
We are still having a fantastic time, have to leave Buenos Aires which we are both very sad about as it is an amazing city.
We arrived last week on the best long (21 Hour) coach journey ever, think first class! We had massive reclining seats, stopped at a restaurant for 3 course dinner including wine, beer and champagne then when we got on we had a night cap & breakfast in the morning, it was great all included and only cost about 25pounds. Brilliant. Loving Argentina already.
Buenos Aires has a very European feel about the place lots of architectural old buildings, coubled streets and tons of dog s***. Brill place though, we have spend hours just wandering around the city, going shopping (very very cheap clothes) watching impromtu tango shows in the street, admiring old buildings and visiting churches. We are so cultural!!! Seen Evitas grave which is in a masssive old cemetry full of great big headstones. Also seen the balcony from where she made all her famous speeches but never did sing ¨Dont cry for me Argentina¨. The only thing we didnt get to do is Tango lessons we put our names down but the lessson got cancelled (must have heard about Matts 2 left feet) and we didnt get chance to go again, gutted! Would have been a great laugh! (laughing at Matt anyway
Best bit though has to be the food and nightlife. The food is fantastic we have had steak 5 out of the 7 nights we have been here and when we say steak not the silly little bits of steak we get at home i mean great slabs of meat!!! It is all cooked fresh and costs less than 2 pounds fantastic. One meal we had steak, chicken, 2 pieces of pork, great big salad and a bottle of decent red wine (which is also cheap ) for only 6.50. Its just the steak either though, we had an all you can eat buffet with drinks for less than 4 pounds. Seriously good job we are leaving today or we would be as fat as houses.
As far as nightlife goes they should call it early hours life as they dont go out until 3 in the morning. On saturday we went to club based on the Opera House with wicked views over the port. It was great 5 different rooms with a chill out area outside. We left at about 6 in the morning even that was a bit lame.
We have already ended up spending an extra night here (as do most people it seems). We headed to Palmero and the port the more expensive parts of city we were great. We just layed out in the sun, people watching and hired a rowing boat which was hilarious neither of us were very good. The port has lots of expensive bars and restaurants (when i say expensive i just been compared to other parts still cheap by British standards) which unfortunatley we didnt go to, a little out of the old backpacker budget and tons and tons of yachts.
Anyway as you can probably tell by now, we loved it here and dont want to leave but unfortunatley we have to. Another bus trip to Salta this afternoon only hope it is as good as the first, we have high standards now.
Take care
