After a busy few days in Queenstown i hopped back on the bus heading for mount cook over the lindis pass though macenzie country and we also passed lake pukaki. Mount cook is 3754 meters high and is the highest in NZ, the area designated as a national park has 22 peaks and 40% of it is covered by gaciers. Wanaka is a little town by Lake Wanaka which was carved out by a glacier. We had a short walk around the lake and town before heading to the hostel bar where we had a few competitions with the other tour buses! The following day we drove to Queenstown stopping at the kawarau suspension bridge where i did my first ever buny jump and it was soooooo fun, i loved it! The day started with a 0530 rise, we were on the bus by 6am to head into national park and the trail head of the tongariro alpine crossing, one of the worlds best day hikes. Landed in Auckalnd and first thoughts were that it was much colder than Fiji!! Made my way to the hostel and then had a look around Queens Street before catching a bus to Mount Eden and one tree hill which is infact a volcanic cone on the outskirts of the city. First stop, Raglan, a little surf town on the west coast of north isalnd. The hostel was in the bush, was a pretty cool place just outside of tje town at the base of Mount Karioi. Whilst some people learned to surf i went for a hike up the mountin and watched the sun set from inspiration point which was beautiful.
