Well - now only a few weeks to go before we depart for Africa.... it still seems a while off however as we have the house full right up until our departure date. It has been fantastic so far - catching up with lots of old friends before we head off. Our livers are now looking forward to the restrictions associated with travelling in Muslim countries however.....

The best part of the whole summer so far, without doubt, has been getting to know my 'new' big brother Jezz. He has been staying with us and it has been simply fabulous. He & Clive are getting on like a house on fire (Clive is enjoying having a partner in crime!) & Jezz has been helping with all the final DIY stuff we needed to finish before leaving. His beautiful Lotus Elise has caused a few raised eyebrows in our little village - stands out slightly amongst all the 4x4s & tractors! I am almost sad that we will be leaving for 18 months after having just got to know each other... however hopefully he will be coming out to Africa to meet us during the trip - it helps that he LOVES Africa too, so not much persuasion required!!

The next few weeks will now be spent refining our packing... but to be honest, we could actually leave tomorrow if required. We still have lots more visitors coming out, including Mum who will be out for my dreaded 40th. Party in store if I know my Mum at all!!!
