Back to Bali for the last time before heading on to Darwin in Oz. We tried to make the most of our last days and spent 2 of them in a little village called Padangbai. We hired another scooter and did a bit of a tour of the east side of Bali. Just had 4 nights on Gili Trawangan. Bit of a transport theme here, the boat crossing was a bit hairy to say the least! The boats they use really aren't meant for the open sea that's for sure. Island wasn't too busy so we could relax and spend the days on the beach and the evenings having a good feed and watching a movie in one of the dozens of private booths all the bars seemed to have. Well, as you all know we missed the earthquake in Java by a whisker - 3 days was more than close enough for us. I'm convinced I (Tom) felt the tremor in Surabaya about 5 hours East of the epicentre!!! Anyway we have since gone back to Bali and flown on to Labuanbajo. Wow...flew in with Adam Air, (cheapy airline) who nearly rolled the plane on the runway after landing ! Yogya is quite a sweet little place, lots of friendly locals who all want to talk to you so they can practice their english.
