Absolutely fantastic sleep last night, up early again as bus to catch. Heading to Mendoza, Argentina. 730am and trying to check out, unfortunately the 24 hour reception desk is unattended....and we locked in, front door and 'escape' door both locked?! Thank god there wasn't a fire. Anyway found a little fellow kicking back in restaurant upstairs (breakfast doesn't start until 830am), and we are set free.

The Chile / Argentina border is in the Andes. Quite a number of switchbacks on this mountain road, 27 to be precise and yes I kept looking down and it was a long way down!!

A couple of hours chilling out at the border waiting to go through customs..got free coffee!! Extremely windy, and just a little bit cold and as you can see by photo not a lot other than mountains. Stunning!! And thanks Forbes for making the time and effort to take the photograph whilst you were laying down on a concrete slab.....no need to get up.

So the elevation here is 3200m (10498ft) and no issues with altitude...woohoo, means macchu picchu won't be an issue

By the way have been slack with posting my blogs as I realised I can't post without a photo and I hadn't been taking photos on my phone, so first few photos dodgy random last minute just so I could post the bloody things, especially since I know a few impatient stalkers.....yes I am talking about those who wrote messages on my site. I understand it is simply because you miss me so much!!
