Wow today was amazing!!!!! Loved every minute of it even with the unholy early start. Got picked up at the hotel by our lovely driver who took us to the floating market. Those boats are sooo didn't you feel that it's going to tip at any moment. Was a bit random when the shop keepers hook your boat and pull you to their stall. Got s few nice pieces though. Next up was the bridge over the Kwai. We picked up a personal tour guide on the way who was absolutely lovely and even told us where to pose for the best pics. That bridge is amazing but so sad it came at such a cost. The pictures we got were lush. We then were taken to an all you can eat buffet which had the most lovely food and the best bit was being able to pick your own bananas from the tree that was growing right in the middle of the restaurant.
The best was definitely saved for last though. The elephant trek was the experience of a lifetime. We set off on a 50 year old bull which was sooooo high up it was ubreal. He sort of played by his own rules even picking up snacks along the way :/ After a slow plodding trek we then had a quick outfit change and started the truly scary part. The trek down to the water was terrifying at first since you were balance behind the elephants neck with your hands on his head. My elephant was called Fanta and he was an absolute sweet heart. He carefully picked his way down the path to make sure he didn't drop me. Going in the water was soooo cool. This is where the real fun began the elephants had a ball trying to drown me. Fanta even picked me up in his trunk and dunked me in the water which was such a unique experience. After all that adventure we pretty much slept the entire way back to Bangkok. Could not recommend Bangkok day tours enough.
Also to make the day even better got my tattoo done using bamboo. May be the most painful one yet but I totally love it and seems to heal a lot better. Can't wait to hit the beach tomorrow sadly no sea for me. Sea water and a new tattoo NOT a good mix :)
