We enjoyed a lazy morning packing. We went out for lunch, spent the last of our money on lollipops and got a cab at 1pm to the airport, which took a lot longer than when we arrived because of traffic!
We went through about 10 different security check points which was rather disorganised, hot and quite stressful :(
Once checked in we had to pay an exit tax but we didn't know how much or if we could pay on card and we had to get into a very long queue to find out. Garth was getting very stressed about this when a lady in front offered to spot us! I ended up giving her the $20 AUS that I had for the Rp300000 but afterwards we found out that was only half of what we should have given her. Her timing and kindness was spot on!!!
After more checks we got onto a HUGE plane and enjoyed a good flight with food, inflight entertainment and spectacular sunset views!
I was so excited to have arrived in Hong Kong! Getting out 3 day travel pass was easy, along with getting the train to Kwoloon. We queued 20 mins for a taxi but even that was straightforward. I was so glad I printed out our hotel address in Cantonese with a map because even finding our hotel was easy! I was a little reluctant about our 3 star inner old city hotel, but despite being small, was clean and had everything we needed! Pleasantly surprised!
We popped out for water and a quick stroll through Temple Street night market (which brought back lots of memories of China 2009) before collapsing into our small bed with very noisy (but efficient) air con!
