We are now back in Scotland after our 12 hour flight to Amsterdam, followed by another 2 hour flight to Glasgow. After leaving Taipei yesterday (29 degrees c) it is now 1 degree c here in Scotland. We had to scrape ice from the car before we could drive back home!! We are hoping to stay awake until around 8pm (which will be 4am Taiwan time), then sleep right through until our body clocks adjust. We have created a video of the photographs taken on our last day...

It is 15.07 here and we have finished our lecturing tour. (It is only 07.07 in the UK so most of our friends and relatives will be about to start their day's work!). The blog has been a bit quiet of late, but we have been exhausted and have been wined, dined and entertained 24/7. The 3 day retreat was excellent and hopefully the photos will encapsulate the atmosphere of the place. We visited another university on Wednesday, then had two 3 hour teaching stints...

Students collected us at 10.30 this morning and we got a train to Tainan City to catch the cultural tour bus. Very busy day (and we are not as young as we used to be!!) We visited the Anping Tree House, the Anping Old Fort and had a boat trip. Very hot again today, but the Taiwanese say that this is the cool time of the year!! Tomorrow we have an early start at 6.50am to catch the train to Hualin where we stay for two nights in a hotel near the national park....

Very exhausting day!! Presentations went very well and were well received. Hopefully some sightseeing photos will follow as we don't have workshops until 3pm tomorrow.

It has been a hectic couple of days and we lost Internet access for a while. We didn't realise that the so-called free wifi we had in the first hotel, was actually the room next door's and that we should have been paying for our own. Anyhow, we now have free wifi in this hotel. The first set of presentations were actually today (and not tomorrow as we originally thought).
