Strapped down and ready to go home. After 2000 miles around Europe without a single glitch, the bikes deserve a rest. The ferry was delayed by 1 1/2 hours due to bad weather (probably in Dover)!

Steve, Edith and Wendy, a lovely family from Manchester that we met at La Source campsite. They provided us with shelter from the morning rain and a bacon and egg sarnie for breakfast. Oh, and a cup of tea. Meeting people like this restores your faith in Brits!

We made it home in one piece after an eventful last leg of the journey, due to high winds and torrential rain in England! 2210 miles completed, 3 countries and 1 of the best roads we have ever ridden (st Bernardo, Italy). Cost about £600 each in total for a fantastic experience. Some good people encountered along the way, and some fine beer supped.

Campsite at la Source, Hautot-sur-Mur. Arrived before 12 and camped next to the river. Walked into town and had a good meal. Bought some beer and breakfast from supermarket and headed back for campsite. A man named Lindsey from Brighton is on the campsite on his motorbike, which has a snapped clutch cable. I fixed his bike and he never even said thankyou!

Camped at the Chateau de Chanteloup, near Le Mans. After 380 miles we arrived to find the campsite doesn't open until next week! The owner of the Chateau, Dominic, allowed us to camp for free and gave us a free pint! The Chateau is within 25 hectares. Definitely the most hospitable place we have been. There was another two Brits on the site who are from Sheffield!
