Well I am finally writing the second blog entry after over a month and three countries later. I really enjoyed both Laos and Cambodia for different reasons. Laos was very slow paced which made me feel like at home. Though waiting nearly an hour for my meal never impressed me.
Cambodia was a land full of pjs(people would were them all day long), incredibly happy children(that me and charlotte both wanted to steal), moterbikes, and people having the ablitly to pack as much stuff as possible onto a vechile. The record number of people i saw crammed onto a moterbike was 5 but i am sure they could manage more. We expercined the cramming by travelling in a mini van for 5 hours that had 17 people in it.
Everytime we get on a bus between cites something unexpected happens. And the recent trip from Phnom pehn to Ho chi minh was no execption. A very drunk and probally mentally unstable man decided to attack a man on his way to the bus's bathroom. The man smartly locked himself in the bathroom while the drunk man punched a hole in the door. He was yelling abuse and had a few empty spirit bottles as weapons. Luckily we had amazing bus staff and a passenger hero who managed to get the bottles of him and surround him while the other man could leave the bathroom and get back to his seat. We travelled with this man for a few hours more. He ranted on about America and how he was going to hunt the other man down in Ho Chi Minh and kill him. It was pretty scary and he was only a few seats away from me. However he got handed over the police at the border and we safely travelled onto Ho Chi Minh.
Ho Chi Minh or Saigon is huge! 7 million people really make crossing the road a difficult process. Me and sarah have had to been helped by the tourist police because we just cant do it on our own. I really like city even though i have spent most of the time in bed because i felt ill. We are staying in guesthouse in this laybrinth of alleyways.
I hope that Dianne and Susanne are happy with this.
