Beach beach beach. the islands are awesome. Got to Ko Tao on sunday. Not allowed to mention the journey (becky being the first person to officially moan on my message board :)! Have to say aswell thats where ive seen some of the most interesting things and met the most interesting of people! But as you are my readers-I will try not to include so much about the infastructure of thailand! Noted! :) Big hugs!
So Ko tao is mainly a diving island so things are pretty quiet in the day and most people seem to sit there revising with a head stuck in a book. Apparently it can't be that hard to do a PADI though as they seem to be in the bar very early! Apparently drinking through a dive mask and snorkel is compulsory. I was quiet happy swimming off the beach with my googles. Actually did quite a bit of exercise which made me very happy- even though its really hard to get out of your depth. The beach bars on the island are really nice and you can sit having your breakfast looking out on to the sea. Wasn't offerly impressed with the coral. Its kind of murkey in colour but there are a lot of fish if you swim outr far enough. My ears won't let me do diving but as long as im in the water Im a happy buny. So spent monday relaxing on the beach, checking out the shops and updating my wardrobe from treking gear where evrything is a kind of karki green colour to something which resembles my at home summer wardrobe. Not that that even matters. Its surprising how things that wud'nt match at home go so well together when your away - love it. Met up with the girls again on monday as they had been to ko samui for a bit of beach girly holiday- sounds like magaluf and properly westernised. They had a good time though. Ko tao is complete opposite, pretty quiet and theres one or two bars that people go to in the evening- more like sleepy loughborough i guess. Spent a few evenings in lotus bar- wkd music and went out for a few meals with the girls and their diving instructor. Awesome. Not too much to think about on this island. Bit of a rest.
