ok before you read on just want to apologise to mum and dad as don't think you are going to trusting me on my travels. you'll see why in a minXXXXXX
so i left Wanaka (feeling very sad about the situation, as would say that it is prob one of my fav places in south island. just felt at home there. Got collected at the hostel and headed towards queens town. on the way down there we stopped off at a farm and did a bit a fruit picking. My fruit was then used to make a very yummy ice cream. we then continued our trip to queenstown. the good thing bout stray is that you will stop off at random and unique places where noone else goes. we stopped off at a bridge and everyone jumped off it into a nice icey cold river (river comes from a glacier). after drying ourselves off we headed down to a bungy jump place!!!!!! where bungy started. we also watched a video of how it started and they made it look so easy!!!! few people from the bus decided to do a bungy and i Got very nervous watching them and decided i could never do one at all. don't think i would like hanging upside down for a long time.
However (sorry mum and dad), i decided to not do a bungy jump. instead i did a Canyon swing!!!!! for those who don't know what it is. you stand on a ledge (which is over a canyon) stapped to a harnnes and then you throw yourself off. you free fall for about 10 secs and then the harnnes turns into a swing and you swing in a canyon. I must say i don't think i've ever been so scared in my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
During the day in christchurch the sky was a very strange colour (kinda yellow) and the weather was tarnge too (very windy), our bus driver explained to us that because of all the bush fires in oz we are getting the smoke from it and its changing the colour of the sky.
in the eve i went out with the people on my bus and got a little bit merry. when i did a canyon swing the guys weighed me and then drew a snail on my hand. after going out in the eve i fell asleep unable to get the snail off.
In the morning i got up very early (as was heading to milford sounds), and noticed that i had one very dark eye and a rosey check. (wondered what i'd done to myself when i was alseep), however i then realised that i had a imprint of the snail on my face!!!!!!! and couln't get it off. so i headed off the milford sounds witha snail stuck to my face:)
So i headed to milford sounds and it was raining all day. (i decided i hate the rain). not surprised it rained though as out of 365 day it rains up to 200. on the way up we stopped off at mirror lakes which was cool. we also went post the valley of 1000 waterfalls. which only appears when it rains so i was pretty much surrounded by waterfalls all days. went on a boat trip round milford sounds (picture above), but was unable to see how beautiful it was as it was so wet and cloudy. there was one waterfall which was higher then niagera falls. it was amazing.
in the eve i met up with laura (friend from uni) and went out for dinner. it was lovely to see familiar faces. then headed out after this to say good bye to my friend on the bus as everyone was going their dseperate ways (so am vey sad today). its amazing how close you get to them as you live with them 24/7. our bus was a really good group and everyone had such a laugh.
so this morning i got the bus and feel like i'm having to start all over again. but bus driver seems good fun which plays a massive importance in you enjoying the trip. today we stopped at lake takpo where loads of wedding happen here and you will see why in pics.
hope you are all loving the snowXXX
