Update from Kilkenny.
We didnt make it to the Giuness Brewery or the Jameson Distillery yest, but we will stop on our way back through Dublin. The queen kind of messed things up. We planned to walk to the train station and leave our bags, but because the queen was in town they had closed the bag strorage. So we jsut hopped on a train and headed here.
We got here and headed to our hostel. Its so cute. It a house and a family owns it with a little boy. They are super friendly and gave us great tips on the town. Theres a kitchen so we made some meals. The town has lots of stores and pubs. Its very small. There is a castle at one end and a church at the other. Everyone is really nice. An older lady walked with us all the way through town to our hostel.
Last night we went to a few pubs. Still hasnt hit me Im in Ireland. I kept having to remind myself that im in an irish bar in Ireland not Boston. There was a band and they were playing alot of american music. They loved Johnny Cash. Im gonna post a pic later but the banjo player was totally the Irish version of Ronnie from the Jersey Shore. So funny.
Ive learned a few things. First you dont tip. It was really hard to just walk away. Also the frozen lassagna i bought at the store was horrible. Last I was talking to one of the band members and she was saying that no one speaks Irish anymore. She said her grandmother doesnt even remember the language because they were forbidden from speaking it during British rule. It was even really taught in school. Really sad.
Anyway sitting in the family room enjoying my coffee. We are goimg to the Smithwicks brewey (the oldest brewery in Ireland) and then headed to Cork.

Danielle Yayyy sounds like so much fun Susan. I'm jealous. I want to see an Irish version of Ronnie. I think with the accent and looks I would have been a very happy American woman :) keep posting :) and B SAFE
