Sorry we have not updated in a while. We moved on from Nice to Cinque Terre Italy where we had little internet acess. This small chain of villages along the Italian Rivera provided us with magnificent views of the ocean and the mountains. We stayed in a guest house with Manuel and his HOT Italian nephew, Lorenzo. We roamed around the towns and took it easy. We started the hike that connected all of the towns, but had to stop half way through due to a storm. We were still able to visit them via train though.
Now we are in Rome. We got here on Sunday night and immediatly signed up for a pub crawl/night tour of the city. I know you won't believe this, but it was actually educational! We got to see the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps as well as a few other sites before heading to the bars! We met some fun people, mostly from Canada. Yesterday we sprinted through the Vatican Museums in order to make our 2 o'clock walking tour of Rome. The Vatican and the Sistine Chapel were awesome, but I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy it. We went on a 4 hour walking tour in the afternoon which included the colleseum, the pantheon, palantine hill and lots of other old ruins. It's amazing to think how old this stuff actually is! Last night was a quiet night with an outdoor Italian dinner and some laundry (sounds romantic, right?). We think that there is some conspiracy against us in Italy. Everywhere we go we have to beg and plead for our check. Last night they kept bringing us free wine to keep us there. I guess you can't complain about free wine! Today we are going to St Peters and then it is off to Venice for the night. Ciao!
