Blog 12
Apologies for the last couple of entries but today we have a day off together so we can do a proper blog!
Work's been getting a lot busier and all the schools finish at the end of this week so it's going to be crazy soon. It's because of this that we haven't been able to get many days off together.
We're still having a great time and we've decorated our room and the house with fairy lights and tinsel ready for Christmas. Can't believe that it is only two weeks away!
So, what have we been up to since our last main blog? Well, we've explored a lot more of the island on our $33 bikes which have proven to be worth a lot more than we paid!
I went to the West End for the first time yesterday, Laura couldn't make it as she was working but I'm going to drag her over there in the next week or so as it was amazing. I went with 2 of the Sarahs, Fish (the supervisor) and Blondie, with a view to finding Eagle Bay and "jump rock" which has been a big talking point at the dorms. It's a rock that peaks around 30-40 feet high, with a sheer drop to the water which is around 20 feet deep at that point. Jumping off is very exhilarating to say the least!
Laura and I did Oliver Hill last week, it gives amazing 360 degree views of the island, and they take your breath away. We also did a bit of "off the beaten track" cycling, and saw many beautiful parts of the island that not many others get to see.
Laura has spending a lot of her spare time cooking, much to the delight of the other housemates! British foods such as flapjack have gone down very well, the closest they get over here are "Anzac" biscuits, which are nice but not nearly as nice.
Most of our time has been spent in and around work, or socialising (read - "drinking alcohol"), it's been great and we're now really looking forward to spending the festive season with our friends. We're having a big works Christmas do, on Christmas day! We're really looking forward to it.
Hope you are all well and looking forward to Christmas,
Love you all loads,
James and Laura xXx
p.s. thank you for all your messages. Hi Kerry and Mark. Still had no surf. Once we've sold Kevin we're going to get a new vehicle then we can go down to Margaret River for a few days to surf. Hope you are feeling better now. Speak to you soon. Lots of love, Laura xXx
